A connection gives Motion access to an external service, such as Getty or cloud storage. Its scope determines who can use it. Agent permissions determine whether a run is allowed to use it.

Choose the scope when connecting

Use Plugins to browse services and manage connections. Check the destination before connecting: Owners, Admins and Workspace Managers can connect workspace services. Members can use accessible workspace connections, but do not gain the connection owner’s provider credentials or authority to manage the account. A connection in one workspace is not automatically available in another. Connect the service to the intended workspace explicitly. Provider licensing, account limits and charges still apply; a successful connection is not a promise that every provider operation is free.

Using connections in a private chat

Your personal connections can be available in a chat private to you. Use the composer’s + → Plugins controls to choose the connections for your request. The selection is still subject to organization, workspace and resource restrictions.

Using connections in a shared chat

Sharing a chat does not grant collaborators access to your personal accounts. Personal connections are off by default for shared work unless you enable yours for your message. Each participant controls their own personal connections. A teammate’s message does not inherit your personal credentials because you created the chat. Workspace connections provide a stable shared option for the whole team. When several people steer a running agent, permission changes apply at the next tool boundary. A tool call already in progress keeps the identity that authorized it. Later work uses the applicable sender’s permissions; credentials from several participants are not silently pooled. Material already fetched into a shared chat may be visible to its participants. Turning a connection off prevents further use; it does not remove information already present in the conversation or video.

Troubleshoot a missing connection

Check the selected workspace, whether the account is personal or workspace-scoped, and any Disabled by… explanation in the picker. If the provider authorization has expired, a person with permission to manage that connection must reconnect it. Social accounts add a publishing approval step. See Social posting.
